Zusammen Hundert u. Achtzehn Personen u. 5 Zeugling -wovon 2 Personen in Caijute.
Bremen July 16. 1852 P. P. Bödecker (trans: all together 118 people and 5 infants
as well as 2 people in cabin class)

Transcriber's Notes:

A question mark indicates unclear or indecipherable material.
A ^ indicates superscript.
An * indicates a footnote found in the Passenger Notes.

Brackets were used to indicate the luggage for a group of people travelling together.
On this list those numbers are listed on the line where they are found in the original
list.

The ship left Bremen 16 July 1852 and arrived in Baltimore on 16 September 1852.

The tally of passengers at the end of the list does not match the number of names and there
is no indication of which two passengers were in the cabin category.

Brauer - brewer
Kaufmann - merchant
Landmann - farmer (possible land owner)
Oekenomin - farmer
Schlachter - butcher
Schmied - smithy/blacksmith
Schneider - tailor
Schumacher - shoemaker

12 Place of origin, Wurzburg, has an umlauted u (Würzburg)
19 Age listed as 2-1/2, changed to 2 years, 6 months.
28 Age listed as 4-1/2, changed to 4 years, 6 months.
36 Given name is probably Regina or Regine.
39 Damage to original has obliterated the first letters of the given name. It may
         be Georg.
41 Second word of occupation is blurred--may be Meister, i.e. Schneider Meister.
52 Damage to original has obliterated part of the name--looks like it may be J??^a,
that is Johanna Gerhard. Age is listed in the female gender column.
52-59 Names unclear because of damage to original. Passengers 55-59 have the same
surname, but because ditto marks are used indicating the same name as passenger
55, the name is lost.It looks like the last letters of the name are "...born."
54 Age listed as 16-1/2, changed to 16 years, 6 months.
62 Surname seems to be four letters--perhaps something like Lutz because of the
         traces of letters still visible.
64-65 Bonsdorf has an umlauted o (Bönsdorf). Occupation probably Wäscherinnen.
 66 Age is either 40 or 46.
66-71 Ronneburg has an umlauted o (Rönneburg).
74-80 Rudiger has an umlauted u so may also be Ruediger.
83-85 Munch has an umlauted u so may also be Muench.
91 Furstenhagen has an umlauted u (Fürstenhagen).
92 Ruhlein has an umlauted u so may also be Ruehlein. zum Bescuh means on a visit.
94-98 Bohm has an umlauted o so may also be Boehm.
98 Given name may be Friedrich--no place of origin given--presumably that of the
         previous passengers.
106 Surname must be Braun; however, something else was first written in, then
crossed off and the ditto mark entered indicating the same surname as the
         previous passenger.
107 Original list writer has written the occupation (Oekenom) in the residence
column and the residence (Emden) in the occupation column.
108-111 Muller has an umlauted u so may also be Mueller. Again the place of residence
is written in the occupation column.
116 Given name may be Michael.
120 Age is listed in the 1 to 10 column
National Archives and Records Administration, Film M255, Reel 9, List 93.
