The port authority statement has blanks that were to be filled in; on this list, only the
initials C B are entered for the name of the captain. His name may be Bahr as found on
another ship's list.
Passengers have been renumbered for this list with the three First Cabin passengers moved
to the end of the listing.
Translations of some terms:
Backer has an umlauted a; baker
Bierbrauer brewer (beer)
Brechler probably bricklayer
Forster forester (Förster)
Goldarbeiter gold worker, goldsmith
Maurer mason
Penter probably painter
Schneider tailor
Schreiber writer/clerk
Schuhmacher shoemaker
Tischler carpenter/cabinet maker
Zimmermann carpenter
Weber weaver
1-2 Entry in parenthesis over the place of origin: Böhmen, i.e. Bohemia.
9-15 Damaged original has obliterated most of the information in these entries. I
believe they are all Havel children, however.
16-37 Place of origin, Bohmen/Bohemia, has an umlaued o.
34-36 Surname not listed or indicated by ditto marks; presumably same as that for entry 32.
54 Place of origin: fifth letter unclear. Looks like an i written over an a or
vice versa.
80-85 Place of origin unclear--seems to be something like Domietuza(?)
92 Munchen has an umlauted u--known as Munich in English speaking countries.
98 Occupation, Backer, has an umlaute a.
101 Occupation, Backer, has an umlaute a. Question whether the origin should read
Baiersdorff.
106 Place name should probably be Ettlingen.
108 Duffner has an umlauted u so may also be Dueffner.
108-109 Should Schonah be Schönach?

156 Forster has an umlauted o.

Langenbruck. Age is either 30 or 38.
176 Munchberg has an umlauted u.
182 Munchhausen as an umlauted first u.
184-186 Jager has an umlauted a so may also be Jaeger.
185-186 Surname not listed or indicated by ditto marks; presumably same as that for entry 184.
195 Moder may have an umlauted o so may also be Moeder.
200-201 Discrepancy between the place of origin for these two compared to the previous family
members. Here it is written as Neda; there there seems to be an r added: Nedar
202-203 Surname unclear because of overwriting. The name may be either Namburg, Nannburg or
Naumburg.
208 Coln has an umlauted o; known in English as Cologne.
