An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
* This manifest of the Brig Rebecca is contained on National Archives and Records
Administration microfilm M259 Reel 25 and is bundled with the manifest of the
Bremen Ship Rebecca. It is not known why these two manifests are bundled together.
* This manifest of the Brig Rebecca does not contain the date of arrival at the
Port of New Orleans. Ancestry.com lists the date of arrival as 2 February 1846
and that date is the one used in this transcription. The Ship Rebecca's manifest
which is bundled with the Brig Rebecca's manifest arrived at New Orleans
on 17 February 1846, and is List number 69.
