Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The handwriting of the recorder is quite poor and many of the names and occupations
are nearly impossible to decipher. The transcriber made every effort to decipher and
transcribe the names and occupations correctly. In cases in which the word could not
be transcribed with certainty, alternatives are given in the Transcriber's Notes below.
However, the transcription is likely to include some errors and the reader is cautioned
to view the transcribed names and occupations with some suspicion.
22-24 Passenger's destination is recorded as "Canada Albert", likey intending
Alberta, Canada.
42 Letters of given name are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but name might possibly be "Henry".
50 Passenger's Age is not recorded.
67-71 Surname appears to be either "Keepyer" or "Keepyen".
74-92 These passengers are recorded as being from "Germany", yet the surname appear
to be more likely English, possibly a recording error.
76 Letters of given name are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but name might possibly be "Charles".
77 Surname is possibly "Turner" or "Jurner".
78 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but the Occupation might possibly be "Tanner" or "Farmer".
78-81 Surname is recorded as "Hetch", but might possibly be "Hatch".
83 Passenger's destination is recorded as "Canada Albert", likey intending
Alberta, Canada. Last part of passenger's Occupation cannot be deciphered
with certainty, but might possibly be "Maker".
88-92 Surname is recorded as "Hagarty", but might possibly be "Haggerty".
90 Given name might possibly be "Caroline".
93 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered.
94 Surname appears to be written as "Cumus", but might possibly be "Camus" or "Camas".
99 Surname is recorded as "Barny", but might possibly be "Barney".
107 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but Occupation is possibly "Joiner", "Farmer" or "Fireman".
112 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered.
A notation about death of an infant "on 29th ???" is associated with this and the
next passenger, but the note is not clearly written and cannot be deciphered.
115 Passenger's Age is overwritten and not decipherable.
127 Letters of given name are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered.
131 Passenger's Age is not distinctly written and cannot be deciphered with certainty,
but Age might possibly be either 4 or 21 months.
132 Passenger's Occupation is not recorded, but recorder might have intended it to
be the same as the Occupation of the last adult male above, "Basketmaker".
161 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered, but
the Occupation appears to begin with "T", and might possibly be "Tutress".
162 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but Occupation is possibly "Farmer".
166 Letters of Occupation are not distinctly formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but Occupation is possibly "Farmer" or "Baker".
