DISTRICT OF BOSTON AND CHARLESTOWN - PORT OF BOSTON
I Samuel Walters Master of the S/S Michigan do solemnly and truly swear that the following List or Manifest
subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston is a full and
perfect list of passengers taken on board the said vessel at Liverpool from which port said vessel has now
arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country,
intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, date
and cause of death of passengers, as required by the "Passenger Act of 1882", also a true statement, so far as
can be ascertained with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to protracted sojourn in this country,
so help me God.

Personal Notes
31 Morris Glaser (1868-1931) was the first immigrant to the U.S.A. from my
paternal line, i.e., my father's first cousin. His wife Mary Ida (1869-1921)and
daughter Tina (1890-1918) arrived shortly thereafter. His children born in the US:
Etta (1894-1973), Frances (1897-1924), Huna (1901-1980), Abraham (1903-1998), Samuel
(1905-1989), and Helen (1907-1997). Over the next 35 or so years he was followed to
the U.S.A. by about fifty siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins, all from Russian
dominated lands. He became a successful and respected business man in Boston. MA.
