Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
or is used to call your attention to additional information in the transcriber's notes.
? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the
manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
^ A ^ followed by a letter indicates that the letter was superscripted.
* Names were transcribed as seen regardless of spelling.
* None died during the voyage, therefore this column was eliminated.
9 Surname is difficult to read, may be Schule.
11, 12 First letter of surname may be L or Z, for Lessin or Zessin.
26 First name is very hard to read.
31 Surname is unreadable, name may be Handemann, Handermand, or ?andermann.
33 Surname is unreadable, maybe Kryict.
42 Surname may be Auger.
68 Surname may be many things; has an accent mark above what might be an "e" or
it might be "u", so name maybe Derr Dere, or Dur.
91-93 First letter of surname is strange maybe "F" or "Z".
94-98 Surname first letter may be "F" or "Z", name ends with "el"
107-109 Surname may be anything, accent mark over the final "a".
109 Given name can't be read.
128 Accent mark above the "o" in the surname.
130, 131 Can not read the first letter of the surname.
143-145 Surname is difficult to read, name may be Pasche, amongst many other things, Pa??he.
154-159 were bracketed with note next to the bracket: children of the before named parents
(the scribe probably thought this note was required as these children were listed at
the top of page 4 and were located in steerage, whereas the the parents and the older
children were listed at the bottom of page 3 and were located between decks).
172 Surname unreadable as a black line was drawn through all of the infomation on this line;
significance of the line is unkown.
178 Surname is very difficult to transcribe, especially the middle letters that cannot be
differentiated.
189 First 2 or 3 letters not readable ends in "wig". First one or 2 letter of given name
look like that of the surname, given name may be Etiane or Marie.
205 Surname maybe Long, Lawy, Lasoy.
210 First letter of surname may be "Q" or ?.
215 Transcriber's maternal family's surname was Brantz so there was a temptation to list
this as a possibility, but most likely the name is Brandtz or Brandt. Also noted was
the fact that the baby was born during the voyage "of M^rs Anna Brandt". Furthermore
the spelling of the surname of the baby, and mother is similar to that of the captain.
217 Accent mark above the first "a" in given name.
218 Noted that this baby was born during the voyage, and "son of Miss Marie Schaefler".
219 This passenger is at the top of page 6 and was numbered "1" and then there is a space
before the next passenger which is also numbered "1". No reason is given for this. All
passengers are noted to be in "second cabins". My guess is that the first passenger may
have been in a "first cabin" and the remaining passengers were in "second cabins".
220 Surname may be Zingg.
221 Fist letter of surname is not known.
222, 223 Surname maybe Kerns.
241 All information for this passenger was lined through; no reason given. This passnger
probably was not counted in th sum of "35" given at the end of the list, so maybe he
never boarded.
247 First letter of surname is unusual, name may be Yadry or Gadry.
