Transcriber's Notes:

The column, "Died on the Voyage" was used to record two births on board the ship;
Passenger #22 and Passenger #38. There apparently were no deaths on this voyage.

A question mark (?) is used for letter/letters that cannot be read because of the
quality of the document. Where possible a suggestion is given in the Transcriber's
Notes of what this letter/letters may be.

An asterisk (*) is used to refer to an item in the transcriber's notes, which
further explains the entry.

A cirumflex (^) is used to denote letter/letters that are missing. The lister
showed this by writing the end letters smaller and raising them above the line.

The lister also used the "leading s", which appears at first glance to be an "f"
after the letter "s" when actually it signifies a double "s". The transcriber
has changed this where found.

Many passengers were going to Ewansville, as the lister recorded. It is assumed
that this is Evansville.

The lister recorded the Cabin Passengers first; however, he did not number them. The
transcriber has moved these four names to the end of the list. Thus, Passenger #1 to
158 are Steerage Passengers and #159 to #162 are Cabin Passengers.

It is interesting to note that this ship left Bremen, Germany prior to October 4,
1848, since the one child is noted as having been born on that date. This voyage
required almost two months to complete.
