Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
"Male" and "Female" in the Sex column are shortened to "M" and "F" for formatting
reasons.
The copy of the original manifest is in fairly good condition and mostly quite
readable. However, the recorder's formation of some letters is often too small and
indistinct. This makes them unable to be deciphered with certainty. Consequently,
transcribed names are suseptible to error, and should be viewed with some skepticism.
In cases in which the correct spelling of a name is unclear, the transcriber includes
viable spelling alternatives of names in the footnotes.
14-15 Letters of the surname are written so very small and indistinctly that they
cannot be deciphered.
26-36 Letters of the surname, and some of the given names, are written so very small
and indictinctly that they cannot be deciphered.
37 Some letters of Occupation are not decipherable, but Occupation begins with "M"
and ends with "r", and might possibly be "Miner".
38 Letters of surname are too small and indistinct to decipher.
40 Some letters of Occupation are not decipherable, but Occupation begins with "B"
and ends with "maker", and might possibly be "Brickmaker".
55 Surname might possibly be "Porgand" or "Pargand".
68 Surname appears to be either "Schlatterbach" or "Schlutterbach".
70 First name is partially obscured by damage to the manifest, but the name might
possibly be "Georg".
74 Letters of the surname are written so very small and indistinctly that they
cannot be deciphered.
75 Given name might possibly be Julius" or "Johann".
