I, James P. Anderson, Master of the Steam Ship "Tripoli", do
solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare that the following List or Manifest,
subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of
the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the
Passengers taken on board the said S.S. "Tripoli" at Liverpool from which Port
the said S.S. "Tripoli" has now arrived; and that on said List is truly
designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers,
the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to
which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to
become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the
number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages
of those who died.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be
transcribed definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates a passenger's Occupation, such as
"Lab" or "Labr" for Laborer, "Mcht" for Merchant, "Mat" for Matron, "Chd" for
Child, "Ift" for Infant, and "Spin" for Spinster.
The entry "United States" in the destination country column is shortened to
"U. States" for formatting reasons. "Male" and "Female" in the Sex column are
shortened to "M" and "F" for the same reason.
7-8 Surname appears to be either "Manhuman" or "Mauhuman".
12 Surname appears to be either "Beutham" or "Bentham".
39-40 Family surname is recorded both as "Malony" and as "Maloney".
47 Surname is recorded as "Scanlon", but might possibly be "Scanlan".
50-53 Surname is either "Dalton" or "Dutton".
65-66 Surname is recorded as "Twling", but might possibly be "Toolin" or "Twohig".
68-69 Surname is recorded as "Colberd", but might possibly be "Colbert".
