Transcriber's Notes:

An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.

A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.

A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
  definitely.

The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first
few letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter
as superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate
that the following letter is superscripted, i.e., Tho^s for Thomas, Sam^l for
  Samuel, W^m for William, etc.

"Male" and "Female" in the Sex column is shortened to "M" and "F" for formatting
  reasons.

2 Surname is recorded as "Seelizman", but might possibly be "Seligman"
         or "Seeligman".
8 Letters of given name are not carefully formed and cannot be deciphered
