SS Scandinavian
I, John France, Master of the S. S. Scandinavian do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said vessel at Glasgow, Moville and Galway from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on the said list is truly designated the age, the sex, calling, country of citizenship, native couny, intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, and the date and cause of death of passengers, as required by the "Passenger Act of 1882"; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. So help me God. (signed) John France
Sworn to this 26th May, 1890 before me, J. L. Swift, Collector
List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the S. S. Scandinavian whereof John France is Master, from Glasgow burthen 1969 tons.
Columns represent:
1) Name
2) Age
3) Sex
4) Calling
5) Native country
6) Intended destination or Location
7) No. of pieces of baggage
8) Whether Visitors only or intending to be permanent settlers
*Note: The columns "The Country of which they are Citizens", "Location of compartment or space occupied" and "Date and Cause of Death" were eliminated as the original only rarely used the column regarding citizenship, did not list the compartment or section occupied and there were no deaths on this voyage.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) is used for letter/letters that cannot be read because of the
quality of the document. Where possible a suggestion is given in the transcriber's
notes of what this letter/letters may be.
An asterisk (*) is to refer to an item in the transcriber's notes, which further
explains the entry.
^ Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted.
The original lister recorded the names as given name and then surname; the
transcriber has reversed this order for ease in alphabetizing. The original lister
did number the list, but he mis-numbered towards the end of the list. However, the
recapitulation at the end of the manifest does compute with the numbering of the
list, when one considers the two passengers who apparently did not make the voyage.
At times the lister used an "a" in the age column. It is presumed that he did not
ascertain the exact age of the passenger, but was certifying that the passenger was
an adult.
At times the lister abbreviated Domestic as Dom. He also abbreviated Housewife as
Ho Wife.
See Page 2 for a recapitulation of the passengers.
9 The manifest listed age as 1-1/2yr. This was changed to 1y6m per ISTG.
13 This person is listed as a native of the U S of A.
20 Surname: Brenmer, Bremner
22 This passenger's native country is the U S of A.
96 There is an unlaut over the "o".
99 There is a ring over the capital "A", giving it a sound of a long "O".
105 This passenger is recorded as a female, but has a distinctively male name.
107 The full given name is Kristaull
112 This passenger's name is crossed out. When one takes into consideration, the
recapitulation at the end of the manifest, it is clear that he did not make
the voyage. The native country had been listed as Scotland, but this was
crossed out and whatever was written lightly in was unreadable. A ditto
indicated that he was going to Walpole, Mass.
