I, E. Howes, Master of the S.S. San Francisco, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Steamship at Greytown from which Port the said Steamship has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The recorder of the manifest sometimes abbreviates given names by writing the first
few letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter
as superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate
that the following letter was superscripted, i.e., Mich^l for Michael, Tho^s for
Thomas, W^m for William, etc.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates a passenger's Occupation, such as
"Merch", "Mercht" or "Mcht" for Merchant, "Wf" for Wife, "Ch" for Child, "Gentlem"
for Gentleman, "Gentlew" for Gentlewoman and "Seamst" for Seamstress.

35 Surname is not carefully written and cannot be deciphered.
38 Surname is recorded as "Mahan", but might possibly be "Mahon".
59 Passenger's Occupation is recorded as "U.S.A.", likely implying U.S. Army.
63 Passenger's Occupation is recorded as "U.S.A.", likely implying U.S. Army.
160 Surname is recorded as "O'Borin", but might possibly be "O'Boran".
168 Surname is either "Boody" or "Bordy".
171 Surname is not carefully written and cannot be deciphered.
203 Passenger's Occupation is overwritten and cannot be deciphered.
212 Passenger's Occupation is poorly written and cannot be deciphered.
241-242 Middle letters of surname are not carefully formed and cannot be deciphered.
