I, Samuel Askins, do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Samuel M Fox, whereof I am Master, from Havre de Grace. When this ship was sent to me by Ralph Barhorst, it was listed as Samuel M Ton. But, in
looking over the list of other ships, I am sure it is the Samuel M Fox (there are other
voyages by the Samuel M Fox). One place on the declaration does look like Fox; other places
are just hard to read and could be interpreted as Ton.
