I, A Laune, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Mer. Barque Rastede, whereof I am Master, from Hamburg. So help me God, sworn to the 8 August 1853, before me, T A Osborne, DC. (signed) A Laune

This is our great great grandfather's family. We believe that the last name has been transcribed incorrectly. VEHLON should be spelled VEHLOW. Friedr^ should also read Friederick. Thanks so much! David Beck
