Schooner Petronela
I, D. O'Keefe, Master of the Sch Petronela, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Schooner at Wauth(?) Rio(?), Nic, from which Port the said Schooner has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.
So help me God. (Signature) David J. D. O'Keefe
Sworn to this 18th May 1868,
Before me. (Signature) ? ???????, D.C..

1* Alex Renaudeau 35 Male Labourer France America Cabin Transcriber's Notes: A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be transcribed definitely. An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer. * The actual name of the departure port cannot be completely deciphered. It appears to be Wauth Rio, Wanks Rion or Wansks Rion, but no port by that name can be found on any map or in any gazetteer. * The designation "Br Sch Petronela" in the Captain's sworn statement at the beginning of the manifest likely implies that the Schooner Petronela is of British ownership or registry. 1 Surname is possibly "Reuandeau", "Renandeau" or "Renaudeau".
