Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing only the first
few letters of the name, followed sometimes by a period but many times without it,
e.g., Jos for Joseph, Fr. for Friedrich, Heinr for Heinrich, Bernh for Bernhard, etc.
For some names the recorder abbreviates it by writing the first few letters then
skipping letters and then writing the final letter, i.e., Henre for Henriette,
Wilhe for Wilhelmine, Magda for Magdelena, and Joh^a for Johanna, etc.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates a passenger's Occupation, such as
"Merch" or "Mercht" for "Merchant", "Mech" for Mechanic and "Labr" for Laborer.
1-2 Surname is either "Cape" or "Cope".
15-16 Surname is either "Ezerny" or "Czerny".
24 Surname is either "Remmele" or "Remmell".
26 Surname is either "Neuendorf" or "Nenendorf".
27 Surname is either "Harken" or "Horken".
35-38 Surname is either "Hulub" or "Kulub".
49 Surname appears to be written as "Kneip", but might possibly be "Kreip"
or "Krup".
56 Surname appears to be written as "Beutel", but might possibly be "Bentel".
62 Passenger's Age is partially obscured by damage to the manifest, but Age
is possibly 40.
64 First digit of passenger's Age is obscured by damage to the manifest and
is not decipherable.
70 Surname is possibly "Vassetta", "Vassetti" or "Vassette".
76-78 Surname appears to be written as "Traun", but might possibly be "Trann".
86 Surname is either "Raining" or "Rainnig".
97 Surname appears to be written as "Seil", but might possibly be "Seib".
102 Surname is either "Henn" or "Hum".
104 First digit of passenger's Age is partially obscured by damage to the
manifest, but age might possibly be 30.
107 Middle letters of surname are overwritten and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but name might possibly be "Foster" or "Fosotter".
117 Surname is either "Batter" or "Botter".
122 Surname is either "Lensing" or "Leusing".
