Bremen, Germany to Baltimore, Maryland
18 July 1855

I, F. G. Warckmeister Master of the Ship Marianne of Bremen do solemnly swear that the annexed list contains the names of all the Passengers who have been taken on board the said Ship at Bremen - or any other Foreign Port, or at Sea, and brought in the said vessel into any district of the United States since her departure from Bremen.

  7     First letter of surname may be "S" or "P" thus the name would be
        Sacht,Stacht, or Pacht.
  9     Surname has an umlauted "a" so may also be Baehr.
 23-24  Should the surname be Ahlers?
 25     Given name has an umlauted "u"
 26     Surname has an umlauted "u" so may also be Uetzen.
 30-37  Place name has an umlauted "o"
 37     End note indicates that this child died enroute.
 53     Number of pieces of baggage listed as 2 Had.
 64     Surname has an umlauted "o" so may also be Boedeker.
 65     Surname has an umlauted "o" so may also be Doepke.  Also, the place
        name has an umlaut on the second "o"
 70     Place name should probably be Herleshausen.
 71     Surname has an umlauted "u" so may also be Schuette.

        however.

        either Windt or Wendt.
