Male Transcriber's Notes: The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder. The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality of original document. * The column "the country to which they severally belong" contained the same entry of Great Britain * The column "the country in which they intend to become inhabitants" contained the same entry of North America * The column "died on the voyage" did not contain any deaths * The column "occupation" has "do" scattered about. After passenger 36 every adult male has a "do" as if all were mechanics or maybe farmers. Unclear if this is accurate or not. * Passengers 158 to 170, "Cabin" is written in where death column is located and no ages listed 33 Last name may be Lee, Leis 63 to 64 Last name may be Crosier or Crasier 99 to 105 Last name may be McEwin or McEwen 117 Last name may be Walkenshaw 150 Last name may be Horburn, Hoeburn 154 First name either Lessie or Jessie Correspondence added 4-10-2006, NEIL & McFARLANEHello Patricia, After 11 years of searching for my gg grandparents arrival in Canada, they were found on a ship which you transcribed. I assumed they would have landed in Halifax, Quebec City, Montreal or some other Canadian port but they landed in New York City. They were on the Barque Lady of the Lake which arrived 21 June 1834. Their names were [#88, 89, 90)William Neil, his wife Grizzel (Scottish for Grace) & a son John (news to me) and they came with Grizzel's brother James McFarlane (widower twice) and his three daughters Margaret, Elizabeth & Marion (#91, 92, 93, 94). They then travelled to Kent County, Ontario and became farmers where many descendants still live. As I say in my family's history - "they came from Scotland with nothing and I still have most of it". If you wish to add email links to the above persons please add either or both of these rneil@sympatico.ca or mswild@sympatico.ca Thank you for your dedication to this worthwhile project.
