Bark Johann Kepler
I, C. H. Rahe Master of the Johann Kepler do solemnly, sincerely and truly _____ that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customers of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Bark Johann Kepler at Antwerp from which port said Bark has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passenbers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

Personal Notes
This man, Andreas Ludwig Hubert, was my great great grandfather. He was born in Wassenberg,
Westphalia, Germany, but lived in Hillensberg, on the Dutch border, prior to emigrating. He
settled first in Scott County, MN, moved in 1870 to Meeker County, Harvey Township, where he
died in 1885. His first wife died at age 33; two children also died and were buried in
Hillensberg.
Born Elisabeth Peters in Langbroich, she was Ludwig's second wife, and the mother of his five
youngest children. Two more children were born to this marriage, but died in infancy. She
died in Meeker County, MN, sometime prior to 1885.
Franz Michael Hubert was the eldest child of Ludwig and Catherina Stassen Rütten. After his
father's death in Meeker County, he homesteaded in Ramsey County, Dakota Territory with his
wife, Anna Maria, born Meuwissen, and their family. The homestead is now occupied by the
5th generation decendants of Franz (called Frank Rutten). Anna Marie Meuwissen, who married
my great grandfather Franz (Michael Hubert), was on the Wilhelmine, which I transcribed at an
earlier date. They are both pictured on my website.
Heinrich Joseph, called Joseph Ritten, homesteaded in Carlos, Douglas County, MN. Descendants
of himself and his wife Crescentia, born Meyer still live in that area.
The youngest child of Ludwig and Catherine, Johann Hubert, called John Ritten settled in
Cologne, Carver, MN, after his father died and his brother moved to Dakota. He later lived in
Minneapolis and worked in the grain industry.
The eldest child of Ludwig and his second wife, Anna Mechtildis, called Anna Maria, married
Jacob Turck, and lived in Harvey Township, Meeker, MN, the rest of her life.
Anton Hubert Rutten, like his half brother Frank, homesteaded in Dakota in 1885. He married
Mary Fyter of Douglas county, MN. The couple is buried in the Rutten cemetery, where Frank
and Anna are buried, in Ramsey County, ND.
Marie Helene married Louis Hanses in Meeker County, MN. They later settled in Dakota, and
finally in Swallwell, BC, Canada.
Gertrude Katharina Ritten married William Pfleghaar in Cologne, Carver, MN, where they both
remained throughout their lives.
Michael Hubert Rutten also homesteaded in Dakota in 1885. He married Barbara Fyten. He later
homesteaded in Vulcan, Canada. He is buried in Idaho.
Louis could have been the son of Ludwig's brother Peter Joseph, who was farming in Meeker
County, MN, when Ludwig moved there. A Louis Rutten was killed by accident in 1871 in that
county.
