Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The entry "United States" in the native country and destination country columns
is shortened to "U. States" for formatting reasons. "Male" and "Female" in the
Sex column is shortened to "M" and "F" for the same reason.
The recorder records the full given name of most of the passengers, but for
others he employs an abbreviated version, such as "Chas" for Charles, "Thos" or
"Tho^s" for Thomas, "Sam^l" or "Saml" for Samuel, "Jno" for John, "Geo" for George
and "Jas" for James.
14 Damage to the manifest obscurs portions of this passenger's Surname, Age
and Occupation rendering them undecipherable.
15-18 Surname appears to be written as "Laurence", but might possibly be "Lawrence".
20 Passenger's Age is either 35 or 38.
25 Surname is possibly "Gihin", "Guhm", "Gihon" or "Gibon". In the latter case,
surname is likely spelled "Gibbon".
30 Surname is possibly "Tenner", "Turner" or "Tumer".
81-83 Surname is recorded as "Vaughn", but might possibly be "Vaughan".
87 Surname is possibly "Colis", "Coles" or "Cobs", in which case it is likely "Cobbs".
91-92 Family surname appears to be recorded as both "Flennicken" and "Flinnicker".
104 Surname is either "Bach" or "Buch".
106 Surname is recorded as "Walter", but might possibly be "Walters".
109 Surname is recorded as "Shepard", but might possibly be "Shepherd".
116 Surname is either "Yusho" or "Yushi".
133 Surname appears to be either "Outo" or "Outi".
137-138 Surname appears to be written as either "She" or "Shi".
139 A notation associated with this infant passenger states that she "Died at Sea".
The date, time and cause of death are not recorded on the manifest.
145 Given name is either "Jno" or "Jas", abbreviations for "John"
and "James", respectively.
147 Surname appears to be either "Chapnill" or "Chapnell".
174 Surname is recorded as "Lyncoln", but might possibly be "Lincoln".
176-177 Surname is recorded as "Murphay", but might possibly be "Murphy".
183 Surname appears to be written as "Menitt", but might possibly be "Merritt".
201-202 Native Country and Destination Country entries are "U.S. Columbia".
213 Surname appears to be either "Barten" or "Barton".
