I, Tiel, Joseph, Master of the French Steamer France do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said at from which port said has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

8:       Surname may be Desjardins
9:       the last name could be Quitzwoff.
15:      Domestique is not the first name, it refers to the occupation. 
         This passenger is the servant of the Mestrel family, passengers 5 - 7.
19:      the last name could be Lodt.
22:      Given name may be Levy.
27:      Boeri is spelled with an accent on the e.
34:      the last name could be Leteurtre.
35:      Abbe (the title, not the first name) is spelled with an accent on the e.
36:      Loeb is spelled with an accent on the e.
48:      Amelie is spelled with an accent on the first e.
53:      Given name may be De Carlo.
60 - 63: the last name could be Omreani.
64:      the age is illegible due to a crease in the manifest.
72 - 76: the last name could be Onfris.
75:      Francsis is spelled with c cedille.
