DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, Alex^r McRitchie, Master of the Steam-Ship Elysia, do solemnly, sincerely and truly affirm that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said S.S. Elysia at London from which port said ????* has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

*  An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
   or is used to call your attention to additional information in the transcriber's notes.

?  Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the
   manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

^  A ^ followed by a letter indicates that the letter was superscripted.

*  Names were transcribed as seen regardless of spelling.

* "which port said ????*" - an abbreviation has been used here which is illegible.
  burthen tons - there is a tear in the page and the first 2 numbers cannot be read.
  None died on the voyage, therefore this coloumn was omitted.
  All passengers stated that they intended to become inhabitants of the USA, therefore
  this coloumn was omitted as well. 

 1:      the last name could be Croft.
 5:      W^m could stand for William.
 6:      Eliz could be short for Elizabeth.
 7:      Surname might be Willset.
 8:      the last name could be Muller.
 9:      the last name could be Guttrind or Gutkind.
10:      the last name could be Beeker.
13:      the age cannot be read since it's covered by an ink spot.
16:      D^r might stand for Dr.
24 - 28: Surname may be Cutter or Cutler.
32:      the first letter of the last name could be D or G for Gutweiller 
         or Dutweiller.
38:      Jno might stand for John.
39:      Occupation may be abreviation for "merchant".
