I, Robert Chas Cutting, Master of the Steamship "Colorado", do solemnly,
sincerely, and truly declare that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by
me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection
District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken
on board the said Steamship at Liverpool from which Port the said Vessel has
now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and
the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by
each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the
country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said
List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died
on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first few
letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate that
the following letter is superscripted, i.e., Tho^s for Thomas, Sam^l for Samuel,
W^m for William, etc. Othertimes, the recorder abbreviates names by writing the
first few letters, skipping letters and then adding the final letter of the name,
i.e., Patk for Patrick, Margt for Margaret, Thos for Thomas, etc..
"Male" and "Female" in the Sex column are shortened to "M" and "F" for formatting
reasons.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates a passenger's Occupation, such as
"Merch" or "Mercht" for "Merchant", "Mech" for Mechanic, "Labr" or "Lab^r" for
Labourer and "Serv^t" for servant.
21 Surname is possibly "Beckman", "Beekman" or "Bukman".
36 Surname is recorded as "Catton", but might possibly be "Cotton".
76-78 Surname is recorded as "Guass", but might possibly be "Gauss".
79 Surname is either "Greenville" or "Grunville".
120 First digit of Passenger's Age is smeared and not decipherable with
certainty, but Age is likely either 17 or 47.
122 Surname is either "Musserwitz" or "Masserwitz".
125 Surname is not written clearly, but appears to be "Nild" or "Neld",
but might possibly be "Nie", "Niel" or "Neil".
157-161 Surname is recorded as "Swumfp", but might possibly be "Swumpf".
