Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the
transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information in the
Transcriber's Notes below.
? The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read due to quality of
the original document.
^ The use of a ^ indicates that the letter/letters following are superscripted.
The transcription preserves the original spelling.
The manifest scribe did not number the passengers; the numbers have been added by the
transcriber to aid with referencing.
All ditto marks on the original manifest have been replaced with the actual words
indicated.
The manifest scribe used a Germanic letter resembling 'fs'; to aid in reading, these
have been transcribed to 'ss'.
The manifest scribe recorded each infant on the same line as the (presumed)
parent: "[psgr name] & Inft". No other information was provided for the infant.
In keeping with ISTG guidelines, each infant has been given a passenger number.
The manifest scribe recorded a straight line for all female passengers; the scribe recorded
an occupation for each male, regardless of age. In most cases the scribe recorded the
occupation with a ditto mark until a change in occupation occurred. Most occupations should
be regarded with skepticism.
The manifest scribe recorded Country of Origin at the top of each manifest page and when a
change occurred on the page. Otherwise there were no marks made in this column.
