DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
E Lott Master of the RMS "Asia" do solemnly, sincerely and truly affirm that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by Me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York,is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said "Asia" at Liverpool from which port said (omitted) has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

The transcription preserves the original spelling.

The manifest scribe did not number the passengers; the numbers have been added by the 
transcriber.

All ditto marks on the original manifest have been replaced with the actual words indicated.

The manifest scribe used a Germanic letter resembling 'fs'; to aid in reading, these have 
been transcribed to 'ss'.

  6  R.E. is probably abbreviation for Royal Engineers.
 26 Sex recorded originally as M, lined out and corrected.
 32 4th letter, 2nd word of Occupation illegible.
 45 3rd letter of surname obscured by lower extension of letter 'y' in surname above.
 54 3rd and last letters of surname illegible; Occupation is either "---" or "Nurse";
    both are marked one on top of the other; impossible to determine which is the correct
    Occupation.
 69 Occupation either "---" or "D^r"; both are marked one on top of the other; impossible
    to determine which is the correct Occupation.
 73 5th letter of surname illegible, extends below mid-line.
 95 2nd letter of surname not clear, could be Batman or Butman.
