Transcriber Notes:
* is for error by the original recorder or to note other information on the copy added to
   the transcriber's notes.
? Transcriber unable to read due to the quality of the copy, letters are too small, written
   over or elaborate writing.
This Manifest indicates the ship left Genova on 2 April, Naples on 3 April, and Palermo on
4 April. Page number, 45 is stamped on the top and bottom of the given name column. The
copy of this manuscript page has some areas that are dark, and is often difficult to read.
Recorders often used the word do or ditto for some columns. Most passengers on this page
have dittos that look like a d, or a division symbol, in the column of last residence of
the passenger, from previous passengers. This is noted in their transcriber data. On this
page the recorder wrote gender as mas for masculine, or fem for feminine, and marital
status as m for married, and sin or sing for single. This transcriber has written each
column as it is seen on the manuscript.

Passengers 861, 869, 872, 877, 878, and 885 are lined out. This usually means that this
passenger was not on this ship. They do not have a check before their surnames, between
age and gender, or Final Destination as all other passengers do. The nearest relative
information is usually visible either below or above the line. Transcriber has written in
only what can be made out through, above or below a line. New line numbers were hand written
on this page, before the printed line numbers, they begin with the number 181 and end with
  210. On the bottom under the last address column, is written a large 3 t. Beneath that, the
page was signed by an inspector, but his signature was too light to read. Of the 30
passengers on this page, 24 made this passage.

The Italian language has no letter j, k, or w, x, or y. The letter h is only used with ch
  or gh.

The passenger listing above is only one page of this manifest. Both may be seen on the Ellis
  Island Web Site.

dash 18 dash 32, then what looks like EC. The last two letters are not very clear. This
maybe a verification by some government agency, possibly the last set of numbers maybe a
date of an application or verification number by a government agency. Naturalization
numbers are usually listed in the Occupation to Nationality columns, but maybe listed in
the Name column This transcriber can not find anything to explain what the 2F in the
beginning of the list means or what the EC at the end means. Numbers are also written
from occupation to race columns, 8 a dash, 69905 a dash. These numbers maybe a
verification for naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. Ordinarily, the first
number is a naturalization district number, the second set is either an application number
or the Certificate of Arrival number. There is no possible date as is often given. Last

written d or ditto from 880, but over that is US, and what looks like Grand Rapids. The
first word is blocked by the ditto symbol. Address of Mother looks like Montelepre or
Montelefore, nothing similar found. Other passengers nearest relative addresses look more
like the former. At the end of the line is stamped NON IMM for Non Immigrant.
883 Genovese, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 205. Last address is
written d or ditto from 880, Montelefore or Montelepre. Address of Mother looks more the
same, though other passengers nearest relative addresses look more like the former.
884 Tripoli, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 206. Next to surname,
before given name, is the number 1850. Letter T is written before surname to clarify first
letter. Occupation has something lightly written over it, can not make it out. Last
Address looks like it is lightly written over also, can make out US, but rest is not
readable, looks like three letters it ends in C and f or F. Just before surname of wife
the letter T is written, not sure why. Surname of wife is most likely her maiden name, as
was the custom of Italian women to use in that era. Destination maybe NY or NJ, as
recorder wrote these letters similarly. City looks like Me Keesport or Mc Keesport,
nothing similar found in either state. At the end of the line is stamped NON IMM for Non
     Immigrant.
885 Di Fiore, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 207. Passenger is
crossed out by a thick line. This usually means they did not board this ship. Most is
fairly easy to read, and either above, below or through the line. Last address is written
as d or ditto from 884. This passengers information is not blank, as are most columns on
this page, of other passengers who were lined out. Surname of wife is most likely her
maiden name, as was the custom of Italian women to use in that era. There seems to be a
drawing, symbol or simply an ink blotch that starts at the last letter of the city of his
wife, and continues down to the next passenger. It is difficult to describe. It almost
looks like a wing of a bird, connected to a t with a curved top line.
886 Ficano, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 208. Last address is
written as d or ditto from 884. Surname of wife is most likely her maiden name, as was the
custom of Italian women to use in that era. There seems to be a drawing, symbol or an just
an ink blotch over the last letters of the city of his wife to state of destination, that
starts with the previous passenger. It is difficult to describe. It almost looks like a
wing of a bird, connected to a t with a curved top line.
887 La Corte, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 209. Last address is
written as d or ditto from 884. Something is written across the race and last address
columns, possibly a large or an xi, starting from the passenger below. Transcriber does
not know what this is for. Surname of wife, is most likely her maiden name, as was the
custom of Italian women to use in that era. State of NY is written as double diagonal
     dashes.
888 Aiello, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 210. An ink blotch is
over the check mark after age. Something is written across he race to last address,
possibly a large or an xi which continues to the passenger above. Transcriber does not
know what this is for. Destination has something written lightly over it, can not make it
out. The state is not readable, looks like it maybe a W. The city underneath is not
readable, the visible one maybe Scranton, the only legible letters are ranton.
