Transcriber Notes:

* is for error by the original recorder or to note other information on the copy added to the
   transcriber's notes.
? Transcriber unable to read due to the quality of the copy, letters are too small, written over
   or elaborate writing.

This Manifest indicates the ship left Genova on 2 April, Naples on 3 April, and Palermo on
4 April. At the top of the given name column is stamped the page number 42. Stamped at the
bottom of the column is also the number 42. In the top left corner of this page the number
4 is written large and boldly.

Recorders, often used the word do or ditto for some columns. Most passengers have dittos in
columns of Nationality, Race, passenger Last Residence, and Destination. Most towns of last
residence have written what looks like a division symbol, most likely a ditto mark from On this
page gender was written as mas or fem, for masculine and feminine. This transcriber replaced
all dittos and abbreviations with the information referred to. The handwriting of all passenger
names are different than all other columns on this page, indicating two recorders filled this
  page.

Written in the final destination column on the bottom of the page is, J.J. Donovan,
  and beneath, Ins., for Inspector.

  Passengers 773, 776, 789, 790, 791, 797, and 798 are lined out. This usually means that this
passenger was not on this ship. They do not have a check before their surnames, between age
and gender, or Final Destination as other passengers do. The nearest relative information is
usually visible either below or above the line. Transcriber has written in only what can be
made out through, above or below a line. New line numbers were written on this page before the
passengers printed line numbers, these begin with the number 91 to 120. Of the 30 passengers
on this page 23 made this passage, as written by the recorder at the bottom of the page.

The Italian language has no letter j, k, or w, x, or y. The letter h is only used with ch
  or gh.

The passenger listing above is only one page of this manifest. Both may be seen on the Ellis
  Island Web Site.

794 Brocato, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 116. Brackets connect
792 to 796. The first is before the page line number, the second is between the given names
and ages, which has the words wife written for 793 and ch for children written for lines 794
to 796. Surname of wife is most likely her maiden name, as was the custom of Italian women
to use in that era. The last bracket is before the nearest relative. The word Father is
written on line of passenger 792, his name on the line of 793, and his address on the line
of 794. Last address has a d for ditto from 792. Lines are drawn for passengers 794, 795,
and 796 in marital status and occupation columns, as is usual for minors. 795 has written
Claims N J Born, or N Y, in last address column, and 796 has a set of ditto marks under this
column for the claim. 795 and 796 have a dark black line at the bottom of the surname
column, transcriber does not know what this may mean, yet the column also has ditto marks
from 794. Destination is spelled as above.
795 Brocato, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 117.
The word Father is
written online of passenger 792, his name on the line of 793, and his address on the line of
    794. Last address has a d for ditto from 792. Lines are drawn for passengers 794, 795, and
796 in marital status and occupation columns, as is usual for minors. 795 has written Claims
N J Born, or N Y, in last address column, and 796 has a set of ditto marks under this column
for the claim. 795 and 796 have a dark black line at the bottom of the surname column,
transcriber does not know what this may mean, yet the column also has ditto marks from 794.
    Destination is spelled as above.
796 Brocato, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 118. Brackets connect

and ages, which has the words wife written for 793 and ch for children written for lines 794

797 Gardina, before the printed line number is another hand written one, 119, which is blurry
and hard to see under the line. Passenger is crossed out by a line. This usually means they
did not board this ship. Most is easy to read either above, below, or through the line.
Marital status, occupation, able to read and write, nearest relative, and destination
columns of this passenger are blank. Last address has a d for ditto from passenger 792,
but passenger 794 shows the claim that they were N J or N Y born, which is not likely for
