Transcriber's Notes:

* is used for error by the original recorder(s) or is to call attention to
added information in the transcriber's notes.

? Transcriber unable to read due to the quality of the copy, letters are too
small or fancy writing of the recorder.

This Manifest indicates the ship left Genova on 2 April, the majority from
Naples on 3 April, and Palermo on 4 April.

Recorders used the word do or ditto to repeat information from a line above
  for passengers 27 to 55 in Nationality and Race; 28 to 31, 33, 35, 39 to 48
and 50 to 55 for last address and 26 to 33 and 40 to 52 and 55 for
destination. Transcriber replaced all dittos with the information refered to.

Passenger 36 is crossed out, and has no check. This usually means that this
passenger was not on this ship. All other passengers have checks before each
surname, between age and gender, and by Final Destination.

The Italian language has no letter j, k, or w. The letter h is only used with
  ch or gh.

Sources: Names, Italian English Dictionary, David McKay Co, Philadelphia,
1943. Cities: Encyclopedia Britannica Atlas, Chicago, 1947 and Rand McNally
  Co. Atlas, 1978.

26 Cussioh, Destination written on a slant, after S is word San, as in San Jose.
27 Boratto, recorder wrote his o that like an s, but most likely the surname is Boratto.
28 Michele, last letter curves back under line. Wife's given name looks like Michele, but maybe
her given or married surname, address looks like Rossim, maybe Rossani. Passenger 37 has
similar information with surname last letter is clearly an e.
29 Tellatin, age may be 20 or 28.
30 Meneghetti, looks like Meneghetti but maybe Menegletti, manuscript copy is poor. Vittorio,
first letter is light looks like more a T. Nearest Relative Address has a carat or an upward
pointed arrow over the o of Home.
33 Stragliotto, looks like Stragliotto, but maybe Sfragliotto.
34 Cecchin, age 4? second digit very light, part is missing, maybe 3 or 5, copy is poor quality.
36 Guido, a thick line is drawn through all, usually means passenger did not sail on this ship.
Surname maybe Guidio, unable to read some columns, Age maybe 24,
26 or 29. Father's name is legible above the line. Last permanent residence, first part maybe
Lucca, second looks like Barga or Baiga. Destination unclear, maybe Mich, city looks like
   Torj??? or Teni??.
37 Montale, last letter of surname curves backward under the line, probably a style of writing.
38 Bergami, Last residence looks like Montefalicno, in nearest relative, column looks like
Montifalimo. Destination, town looks like Veatoque, Veahoque, or Vealoque.
39 Bucchi, Destination city looks like Veatsque or Veatoque, no such towns in Connecticut found.
40 Bartolomeoli, last residence written as do for ditto, from passenger 38, Montefalcino, but in
nearest relative column, looks like Monntifaliono. Destination is do or ditto from 39.
43 Nori, age unclear maybe 25 or 26. Destination is written do or ditto from passenger 39.
44 Bertoni, Father's given name looks like Getulio letters small, maybe Gebulio, neither found
   in sources.
45 E?sepi, letters small, maybe Ensepi or Eusepe, looks like the latter. Relatives region, and
town shortened as state in listing above. Destination is written as do or ditto from 39.
46 So?a??i, letters are small, name looks like Sguarzi or Sguarsi. Given name is probably
Eugenio, letters are light, bottom of g is blocked by numbers written below.
47 Pasquini, maybe single blocked by a check mark. There are numbers written above the surname
to Nationality columns, the first is unfamiliar, NAT 390 a dash c, another dash, 405??10.
The first letter of given name blocks the numbers, which maybe 4052210 or 4052910. In age
column is a circled A. Then is what looks like an addition problem next to the given name.
The top is hard to read, below that is 428, then a line below that, and under the line 991.
Transcriber does not know what this means. Then above Marital status to Nationality columns
are letters, the first is difficult to read, but maybe a T with a diagonal dash W, or A with
   a diagonal dash W. Next is 55983 a diagonal dash 931 a horizontal dash. Then like a date, 9,
a diagonal dash 20, a diagonal dash 38. These numbers are a verification for naturalization
purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is a naturalization district number, the
second set is either an application number or the Certificate of Arrival number. Last set of
numbers maybe the year and date the person applied. Destination was written as do or ditto,
then written over, but is light and hard to read, maybe Wostoque, Weatoque, or Weatogne,
   nothing similar found in atlas..
48 Gervasi, Numbers are written over gender to occupation columns, 1 a horizontal dash, 100469.
These numbers are a verification for naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The
first number is a naturalization district number, the second set is either an application
number or the Certificate of Arrival number. There is nothing that looks like a date of when
the passenger applied, that often comes afterwards. Destination was do or ditto from 47, then
was written over, looks like it begins with an M or W, rest is too light to read.
49 Ba???oi?i, surname unclear, looks like Bacchoiocchi. Occupation to Nationality columns have
   numbers written above, 1 a horizontal dash 283507, a horizontal dash. Then like a date a 2,
a diagonal dash 29, a diagonal dash 40. These numbers are a verification for naturalization
purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is a naturalization district number, the
second set is either an application number or the Certificate of Arrival number. Last set of
numbers maybe the year and date the person applied. Last Residence written as Montefalomo,
Relative's address as Montefalomi, maybe Montefalcino. Destination is not clear, looks like
Britain, not New Britain, but looks to end in i.
50 Alissi, Residence written as Montefalcino, Relative's looks like Montefalimi. Destination is
written over, looks like it begins with an M or W, rest is not able to read.
51 Angelini, age, unable to read second digit. Destination is written as do for ditto, but is
written over, too light to read, may begin with an M or W, rest is not able to read.
52 Giacomoni, Destination was written as do or ditto from passenger 50.
53 Rondini, Given name of father, Aldebr?ndo looks like Aldobnundo or Aldebrando, no similar
name found. Residence, Fossombronze, unclear Fossombronse or Fozzombrone. Destination,
   letters unlear, see passenger 47.
54 Rondini, T?o, unable to make out, looks like a G or T, as Gvo, Gno, Guo or Tvo, Tno, Tuo. No
name similar found, possibly a nickname. Residence unclear, maybe Fossombronze, Fossombronse,
Fozzombrone or Fozzombronz. Given name of father, Aldebr?ndo maybe Aldobnando, Aldobnondo, or
   Aldebrundo. No name similar found.
55 Piesanti, given name has something written over it, but is too light to make out. Above
marital status to able to read column numbers are written 1, a horizontal dash 178859, a
horizontal dash. Then like a date 4, a diagonal dash 17, a diagonal dash 36. These numbers
are a verification for naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is
a naturalization district number, the second set is either an application number or the
Certificate of Arrival number. Last set of numbers maybe the year and date the person
   applied.
