Bremen, Germany via Southampton, England to New York
8 January 1851

I, GW Floyd, do solemnly, sincerely and truly m??? that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Steam Ship Washington whereof I am Master, from Bremen.

List or Manifest OF ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the U.S.Mail Steam Ship "Washington" whereof George W. Floyd is Master, from Bremen, via Southampton, burthen Sixteen Hundred forty 71/95 tons.
Columns represent: Name*, Age, Sex, Occupation, the country to which they severally belong, the country to which they intend to become inhabitants, died on the Voyage. The destination for all passengers was the United States and there were no deaths on this voyages, therefore these two columns have been eliminated.

Most passengers were listed with First Initial and Last Name;
 several listed with First and Middle Initial and Last Name.

All ditto marks on the original manifest have been replaced with the
 actual words indicated.

Date could be 1881, but is on the 1851 NARA Reel.

Witness signature illegible


21  Middle letter of last name illegible: could be "y" or "z": Weyar or Wezar.
    Seventh letter of occupation is missing; occupation is probably Mechanic.
29  Third and last letters of last name illegible;  Ba?tteu or Ba?ttew
