DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, J. Murtyn, Master of the Steamer "Tarifa", do solemnly,
sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by
me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection
District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken
on board the said "Tarifa" at Liverpool and Queenstown, from which Ports the
said "Tarifa" has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the
age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the
vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs,
and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant;
and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers
who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation,
the country to which they severally belong, the country in which they intend
to become inhabitants, the part of the vessel occupied during the voyage, and
a notation if the passenger died during the voyage.

manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The letter "a" or "c" entered in the Age column in place of the passenger's Age
in years indicates "adult" or "child", respectively.
"Male" and "Female" in the Sex column is shortened to "M" and "F" for formatting
reasons.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
17 Passenger's Age is overwritten and cannot be deciphered with certainty, but
might possibly be 20 or 40.
30-31 Family surname is recorded as both "Royls" and "Royels".
51-53 Surname is recorded as "McClean", but might possibly be "McLean".
54 Surname is recorded as "Feenay", but might possibly be "Feeney".
59 Some letters of surname are not carefully formed and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but name is possibly "Kalowisk" or "Kalouhisk".
89 Surname appears to be written as "Foolet" or "Fovlet", but might possibly
be "Follet" or "Folliott".
101 Given name appears to be either "Dan" or "David".
