Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first
few letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter
as superscripted. In these cases, the transcribers use the symbol (^) to indicate
that the following letter was superscripted, i.e., Rich^d for Richard, "Eliz^th"
for Elizabeth, "Tho^s" for Thomas, etc.
2-4 Surname is recorded as "Kilgour", but might possibly be "Kilgore".
13 Surname is recorded as "Sewyer", but might possibly be "Sawyer".
21 Surname is either "Hilbig" or "Hilbeg".
22 Surname appears to be recorded as "Cranford", but might possibly be "Crawford".
30 Given name is recorded as "Charels", but might possibly be "Charles".
36 Surname is recorded as "Glyn", but might possibly be "Glynn".
39 Surname is recorded as "Morand", but might possibly be "Moran".
47-50 Country of citizenship and country in which they intend to become inhabitants
is recorded as "J^? Cuba", where the superscripted letter is not clearly
written but might possibly be "a", "e" or "d". Possibly, "J^? Cuba" is
intended to be the city Santiago de Cuba sometimes referred to in the
vernacular as "Jugo de Cuba" or "Jago de Cuba".
55-56 Surname appears to be either "Panshon" or "Pemshon".
67 Surname is recorded as "Chamberlin", but might possibly be "Chamberlain".
69 Surname appears to be written as "Unsworth", but might possibly be "Answorth".
85 Surname is possibly "Bonhotel", "Bonhotal" or "Bonhotol".
109 Passenger's full Occupation is recorded as "Com^? Traveller" where the
superscripted letter cannot be deciphered.
110 Passenger's full Occupation is recorded as "Carpet Manuf^r".
113 Passenger's full Occupation is recorded as "RR^d Official".
115-116 "B.N.A." recorded in the country of citizenship and country in which they
intend to become inhabitants likely is an abbreviation for British North
America now known as Canada.
121 Surname appears to be recorded as "Bowne", but might possibly be "Browne".
124 Surname is recorded as "Fothergill", but might possibly be "Fethergill" or
even "Feathergill".
125 Surname is not clearly written and cannot be deciphered with certainty, but
is possibly "Tarpin", "Terpin" or "Tenpin".
126 Surname appears to be written as "Harpie", but might possibly be "Hayrie.
128-132 Surname is possibly "Dawson", "Dannon", "Danson" or "Damon".
139 Surname is possibly "Cuthbutson", Cathbutson", Cuthbertson" or "Cathbertson".
141 Middle initial is faint and cannot be deciphered with certainty, but is
possibly "M" or "W".
149 Surname is either "Lamont" or "Lamort".
151 Surname is either "Hudder" or "Hodder".
