SS Rugia
I, A. Albers, Master of the S.S. Rugia, do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of the city of New York is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said steamship at Hamburg from which port said steamship has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. 527 - 534: this name could be Elfers. It is not clear if there is just a fancy ending after the r
or if it is the letter s.
536: the first letter in the last name is not clear, it could be N or S, Nieberts, Sieberts.
546: the o in the last name is o Umlaut, Schröder.
547: since # 548 is the wife of 547, the gender should probably be m, the manifest states f.
562 & 563: the first letter of the first name could be F or T. A line over the m in the last
name shows that it should be doubled to make the name Timm.
566: the o in the last name is o Umlaut, Schröder.
576 - 579: A line over the m in the last name shows that it should be doubled to make
the name Assmann.
578: the first name should probably be Arthur.
580: the first o in the last name is o Umlaut to read Schlösson. The last letter in the
last name could be n or r.
587: according to the manifest this daughter is on a different part of the ship. This could
be a mistake by the original recorder.

Johann Eggers was born in 1856 and died in 1898. He married Anna Bohrenkamp 14 July 1883.
They had seven children: John 1884, Katherine 1886, Edward 1888, William 1890, Walter 1895,
Elizabeth 1896 and Annabelle 1898. From my research, both Johann and Anna came from
Hechthausen, Germany. Anna's sister, Maria Bohrenkamp (b. 1848) arrived in America on the
