Correspondence added 29 March 2007, passenger #356, THOMAS BRADY
I found my great-grandfather, Thomas Brady on this ship. Thomas Brady was born 4 January 1837
in Scotland (per Census Report) and died 20 January 1908 in Philadelphia, PA.
He first married Isabella O'Neill who was born in Abt 1835 in England and died 13 October 1878
in Philadelphia. He then married Sarah Jane Gallagher on 30 May 1880 in Phildadelphia.
She was born May 1844 in Ireland and died 14 December 1915 in Philadelphia.
Thomas served in Company K, 21st Pennsylvania Infantry, in the Civil War from 21 April 1861 to
28 August 1861 (three month enlistment).
Thomas and Isabella Brady reportedly lived in Britain after leaving Ireland and
before emigrating to America. Per "Aunt Bonnie" (Veronica Donahue Gerstemeier),
the Bradys came over on a ship that foundered in the Delaware River. Thomas and
Isabella had six children. He remarried after the death of Isabella and he and
Sarah Jane (Gallagher) had six more children: Annie, Mamie, Hanna, Stephen/Steven,
