Transcriber's Notes:

* An * indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the
transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
   in the Transcriber's Notes below.

? The ? indicates letters or words that cannot be read due to the quality
   of the original document.

The occupation of ALL passengers on this ship is listed as Farmer.

? "Sworn to the 31 Dec 184?" -- the year in this part of the manifest is
unreadable, but the year stated on the cover, as well as the ships before
and after this on the microfilm, make the year 1846.

9 Dewein -- surname could be Dervein
11,12 Grnold -- surname could be Genold
32-38 Fleck -- surname could be Fluk, Flick, Gluk, or Gleck.
The names for all members of this family were crossed out, so they
probably did not travel on this ship.
36 may not be Joseph, but unsure what else his first name could be.
39-43 Kemmermann -- surname could be Kimmermann

Transcriber's Personal Notes:

Passengers 88-101 or 102 -- This group of people from Baden (Germany)
includes Enderlin, Joehlin (Johlin with an umlaut over the O), Brotbeck,
and Schmidlin members, and possibly others. Mathias Schmidlin (98) and
Barbara Joehlin (99) are the ancestors of Jon G Cross, the 6th cousin
(once removed) of the transcriber of this donated ship. Joehlin is the
surname of Barbara's first husband, who had died previously. Mathias and
Barbara married in Eichstetten, Baden 19 July 1846, but she may have kept
the surname from her first husband when she traveled to the US. Johann
Joehlin (97) is Barbara's first father-in-law. Enderlin is Barbara's
maiden name, so the Enderlin's here (especially 88-91, 93 and 94) may be
her siblings and their families. Catharina Brotbeck is the maiden name of
Barbara's mother, so number 92 is probably her mother. Martin (100) and
Catherine (101) Joehlin are Barbara's children from her first marriage.
Mathias and Barbara first settled in New York, where their first son was
born. They then came to Oregon Township, Ohio (near Toledo) where the
family remained.
For further information on Mathias Schmidlin go to the Jon G Cross site.
Mathias is number 34, about a third of the way down, on this webpage.

National Archives and Records Administration, Film M237, Reel 65, Number 1101.
