I, Samuel Clarke, do solemnly, sincerely and truly Afirm* that the following
List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the
Collector of Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge
and belief a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship James
Wright whereof I am Master, from Liverpool.

Spelling of "afirm" in the testimonial is as on the manifest.
The manifest scribe apparently prenumbered lines to allow space for 100 poop psgrs;
there were only 94 poop psgrs. The scribe restarted psgr numbers at #1 for the Steerage
psgrs but have been renumbered from #95 on this transcription. Annotations made in the
space between psgrs 94 and 95 are noted at the end of the manifest transcription above.
The manifest scribe used a Germanic letter resembling 'fs'; to aid in reading, these
have been transcribed as ss.
The destination for all but one psgr was United States and this column has been
omitted; the exception has been noted in the Transcriber's Notes.
Only one death occurred on this voyage and is noted in the Transcriber's Notes; the
column has been omitted.
