Ship Isaac Webb


Liverpool, England to New York
9 January 1858

DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, James W. Bryer, Master of the Ship Isaac Webb do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by Me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York,is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Ship at Lpool from which port said Ship has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

Columns represent: Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, The country to which they severally belong, The country to which they intend to become inhabitants, Died on the Voyage, and Part of the vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage. The destination for all passengers was United States and there were no deaths recorded on this voyage; these columns have been omitted.

 4  First letter of surname not clear, could be Ladlay or Sadlay.
 5  First letter of first name not clear, could be Samy.
10  First letter of surname not clear, could be Lyon.
15  3rd letter of surname not clear, could be Coftain or Costain; Country of origin 
    heavily overwritten, could be America.
18  First letter of surname heavily overwritten, illegible; current spelling of 
    Occupation 'tailor'.
21  Sex designation probably a recording error.
25  First name could be Emily and Sex Female.
28  Occupation illegible, could be Wife.
28-33  Surname not clear because of handwriting, could be misspelled Kennedy.
37  End of surname and Age illegible because of adhesive tape repair.
38  First letter of surname illegible, could be Haynes or Raynes; country of origin
