So help me God. (Signature) John Hedderwick.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers all the passengers consecutively 1 through 408, even
though the recorder of the original manifest numbered the 1st Cabin passengers 1
through 29, and the Steerage passengers 1 through 379.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first few
letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate that
the following letter is superscripted, i.e., And^w for Andrew, Tho^s for Thomas,
Mich^l for Michael, W^m for William, etc. For others he employs an abbreviated
version of their given name, such as "Chas" for Charles, "Hy" for Henry,
Michl for Michael, Jno for John, and Jas for James.
The recorder routinely substitutes "Mc" for "Mac" in the surnames of the Irish
passengers.
The entry "United States" in the native country and destination columns
is shortened to "U. States" for formatting reasons.
22-23 Surname is either "Mullen" or "Mullin".
55 Surname is possibly "Spires" or "Spurs".
67 Passenger's Occupation is not clearly written and cannot be deciphered with
certainty, but first two letters are "Ca" followed by "n" or "w" followed by
either no letter or a letter too faint to see, followed by "man". Occupation
is possibly "Canman".
68-69 Passengers' Occupation is not clearly written and cannot be deciphered with
certainty. The Occupation is made up of two words. The first two letters
of the first word are "Ca", followed by three or four letters too poorly
formed to decipher, followed by the last letter "y". The word appears to be
"Causeway" or something similar. The second word of the Occupation is "Layer".
77 Surname is either "Chalmers" or "Chalmus".
92 Surname is recorded as "Docherty", but might possibly be "Doherty" or "Dochery".
Passenger's Occupation appears to be "Sawyer", but might possibly be "Lawyer".
105-110 Surname is either "Rohing" or "Rohnig".
129 Surname is recorded as "Quinne", but might possibly be "Quinn" or "Quinney".
139 Surname is either "Mullen" or "Mullin".
169-170 Surname is recorded as "McIlfedrick", but might possibly be "McIlfatrick".
184-186 Surname is possibly "McManns", "McMauns" or "McManus".
188 Surname appears to be written as "Cheeny" or "Chuny", but might possibly be
"Chaney" or "Cheyne".
