DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, E Higgins master of the Steamer hermann do solemnly, sincerely and truly
swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me
to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full
and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the Steamer at Bremen &
Southampon from which port said Steamer has now arrived; and that on said list is
truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers,
the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which
each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an
inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said
passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

61 Surname may be something like Baelle.
98 Gender designation must be incorrect here.
104 No name is listed, but the other information is recorded.
118 Lister seems to have entered the following passengers name and then
overwritten it with what seems to be Caroline and then the surname
Lenke is clearly that. I believe the initial J does not belong here.
153-154 Surname may be Mannel or Manuel.
160 Things don't jibe here: If it's "Master" why is the gender "f" and the
designation "Lady" used. Fifth letter of surname is unclear because
it has been overwritten or crossed out.
161 Possibly should be the same surname as passenger 160; however there are
no ditto marks or any other indication of this.
164-165 Surname may be Lacy.
166-169 Surname unclear: may be Ruchsen or Ruchner. Occupation for passenger
166: Stationery Maker.
170-171 Difficult to determine whether the surname be Lenke, Linke, or Luike.
192 Given name is written as Carl, then the "l" is crossed off.
205 Surname unclear but may be Horst.
207 Surname may be Techthumer.
228 Surname may be something like Metzechum.
