I, H.F. Schwensen, Master of the SS Hammonia, do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List of Manifest, subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said SS Hammonia at Hamburg/Havre from which port said Steamer has now arrived; and that on the said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of the said passengers, the location of the compartments or space of the said vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country of Citizenship of each; and the destination or location intended by each, and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who have died; also of the pieces of baggage of each ..... true statement so far as can be ascertained with reference to the ......., as to a protracted sojourn .......

There was quite a bit of damage to the manifest. Missing information due to damage
is indicated by a series of dots. One dot does not represent one missing letter.
No deaths were recorded, therefore this coloumn was eliminated.
All passengers stated that their final destination was the United States, therefore
this coloumn was eliminated as well.

*16. Nov.1858 Sendelbach (Lautenbach Oberkirch Baden Germany).
Father: Fidelis Vogt * 18. April 1819 Sendelbach, married his 2nd wife on 6. June
1853: Katharina Mayer *07. June 1833 in Oppenau-Farn. His first wife was Franziska
Huber *24. June 1820 in Lautenbach-Winterbach, died 1852. 6 children from this
marriage. Fidelis Vogt had 14 children, of which 9 died very young, with his second
wife. Leopold F. Vogt was the 10th child. He learned to be a brewer at a private
brewery called Bauhofer (with o Umlaut) which is still brewing beer. He lived in
Erlach, 2 km west of Ulm, where he worked. In 1886 Leopold Vogt emigrated to Clarks
Mills, NY. Family history has it, that his brother Cyriak Vogt, *27. July 1857,
emmigrated to St. Louis in 1881.
Sendelbach is a small town, located on the River Rench. In 1886 8 farms where part
of this town. In 1815 it was incorporated with Lauterbach. In 1839 Fidel Vogt built
a farm which to this day is called "Schlossbur" - castle farm.
453: Agathe Vogt is the daughter of Fidelis Vogt's 4th daughter, Theresia (*27. May 1847).
She was born on 10 February 1869 in Lautenbach-Sendelbach. Theresia Vogt was an
unwed mother.
