Schooner Flying Scud
I, Edward Govert*, Master of the Br Sch "Flying Scud", do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Sch at Graytown, from which Port the said Sch has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.
So help me God. (Signature) E. Goverts*.
Sworn to this 28 April 1868,
Before me. (Signature) Rufus Kevy, D.C..

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of
the manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader
should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is
superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The designation "Br Sch Flying Scud" in the Captain's sworn statement at the
beginning of the manifest likely implies that the Schooner Flying Scud is of
British ownership or registry.
* The Captain's surname is recorded twice in his sworn statement as "Govert",
yet his surname in his signature appears to be "Goverts" or "Goverths".
