Transcriber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to the
quality of original document.
The use of an ^ indicates the following letters were superscribed.
There are many names such as Biget for Bridget, Cathine for Catherine, etc.
that are transcribed as written, but could either be a result of hurrying
or mispelling on the part of the captain.
13 Surname could be McMemanow.
28 Occupation is abbreviated and probably means 'going to husband'.
40 Although the letters in this occupation can clearly be read, this
transcriber has no idea what the occupation is.
57 Occupation is probably blacksmith.
66 A fold in the paper kept the age from being filmed clearly.
77 Occupation is probably brick layer.
87-91 Because most families are listed together on these manifests with
the father or mother at the beginning, these five passengers
were bracketed together probably to indicate that they were a
family traveling together.
90 First word of occupation could be carpet.
93 Occupation is probably blacksmith.
113 This occupation is transcribed as written, but an explanation as to
what it is could not be found.
119 Surname could be Sanee.
127-130 Surname could be Cuniff, but when comparing it to passenger #131,
Martin Cuniff, the third letter of the surname looks much more like an r.
134 This passenger is dittoed as a male in the sex column and also as a
laborer, but this transcriber believes that is an error and that
the passenger is really a female.
136 Occupation is probably lace maker.
165-166 This occupation could be any number of things; such as basketmaker,
beadmaker, beltmaker, boilermaker, bootmaker, etc.
178 Surname could be Enon.
195 Occupation is probably stonemason.
212 This transcriber believes that this passenger belongs with the
Maguire family above, ie., passengers #202-207.
218 Transcriber is uncertain as to what the given name is.
