Schooner Eastern Queen


Nassau, Bahamas to New York

DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, J. D. Wait, master of the Sch. Eastern Queen do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers onboard of the said Sch. Eastern Queen, at Nassau, W.I. from which port said sch. as now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex and occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belong, also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the name and ages of those who died. Columns represent: Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, country in which they intend to become inhabitants, those who died on voyage, and part of vessel occupied. (died on voyage column has been eliminated as no one died on the voyage)

Transcriber's notes:
The captain's name appears to be completely different at the top of the sworn statement -
which appears to be J. D. Wait and the signed sworn statement as James D. Wait than it is below
the List and Manifest statement which appears to be J. A. D. Meek.  The W in Wait appears
to be the same as the W in Wm for last two passengers but those Wms could be Mr.  The M 
in the passenger Martin looks like the M in Meek but not the W in Wait at the top.  Some
possibilities of the captain's name are WAIT, WAIK, WACK, and MEEK.
