Transcriber's Notes
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality
of the original document.
The recorder, while generally having good penmanship, had the habit of writing
certain small letters all the same: u, n, m, e, and i were nearly identical.
Names like Winnie or Jennie were a series of small pointed strokes.
The recorder had another idiosyncracy. Wherever Katherine appears on this list,
he used the custom form of abbreviation of the period. He wrote Kat, then a
small e with a horizontal stroke over it, suggesting that it is the final letter
and that the others were left out. The recorder, however, wrote out completely all
entries for the name Catherine wherever they occurred.
902, 904, 918, 922 See Kate notes above.
942 Recorder clearly wrote Ddwer which seems to be an error. Closest common Irish
name might be Dwyer.
949 Third letter is faint with faint stroke below the line. Looks like Gogan.
957 Kake is clearly written however odd it is.
965 Dysie is clearly written.
971 All surname is faint. Third letter missing. Last letter has the usual stylized
2 points. L, o, and a discernible. Name might be Logan.
976 Surname's fourth letter missing. Galvin seems likely. 977 is a ditto.
992 See Kate notes.
993 This name is clearly written as presented, however rere the surname spelling.
994 See Kate notes.
1009 Clearly spelled with one l.
1019 The month number for the infant is very faint. It looks like an 8.
1020 Faint occupation could be dressmaker.
1021, 1022 Very faint name. Could be Matthews. Occupation may be printer, hers is
wife. Her surname is a ditto.
1026 Surname appears to be Casimore.
1037 Title was written Rev followed by a floating d with a stroke under it.
