Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first few
letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate
that the following letter is superscripted, i.e., Cha^s for Charles, Marg^t for
Margaret, W^m for William, etc.
The entry "United States" in the native country and destination country columns
is shortened to "U. States" for formatting reasons.
13-21 Damage to the manifest obscurs the surname of this family.
22 Occupation is not clearly written, but might possibly be "Teuter",
perhaps intending "Tutor".
43 Surname is either "Johnstone" or "Johnston".
56-57 Surname is recorded as "Sweeny", but might possibly be "Sweeney".
59 Last part of surname is obscurred by damage to the manifest. Third letter
is possibly "F" or "C"; last two letters appear to be "ie".
60 Damage to the manifest entirely obscurs the surname.
61 Damage to the manifest entirely obscurs Passenger's surname and Age.
62 Damage to the manifest entirely obscurs the surname.
98 Surname is possibly "Eslemont", "Elsemont", "E Slemont" or "E Hemont".
120 Surname is recorded as "McClarnor", but might possibly be "McClarnon".
144 Surname appears to be recorded as "Noran", but might possibly be "Moran".
176-177 Surname appears to be written as "Joole", but might possibly be "Toole".
178 Surname is either "Meally" or "Neally".
185 Passenger's Occupation is possibly "Hotter", "Hoker" or "Slotter".
196 Passenger's Occupation is recorded as "Rope and Sail Maker".
204 Surname is recorded as "Cushnin", but might possibly be "Cushion",
"Cushanan", "Cashin" or "Cashman".
209 Passenger's Occupation appears to be witten as "Commipion Agent".
210 Surname is recorded as "Kildery", but might possibly be "Kilderry".
