I, H. Haesloop, do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear
that the following List or Manifest of Passengers,
subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to
the Collector of the Customs for the District of New
York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and
belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers
received on board the Bremen Bark Bessel whereof I am
Master, from Bremen.

two passengers entered on my Manifest as being of the age of One Year are
erroneous by so entered and are less than One Year of Age and ought to have
been so entered.

The manifest scribe routinely used a Germanic lowercase 'f' as the first
letter of a proper name, these have not been transcribed to an uppercase 'F'.
The manifest scribe routinely used a Germanic letter resembling 'fs'; to aid
in reading, these have been transcribed to ss.
The manifest scribe used the Germanic line over the letters 'm' or 'n' to
indicate duplication of the consonant; these have been transcribed to the
double consonant.
The manifest scribe routinely used ditto marks to indicate repetition of a

identified as a group having a total of three cases.
It is not clear if the omission of luggage amount is an omission or an
indication that no luggage was brought aboard.
There is a notation in the Died on the Voyage/Luggage column that psgr #17
was born and died on the voyage.
