Ship Benjamin Adams

2 March 1861

DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, Francis J. Chase, master of Ship Benjamin Adams do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York is a full and perfect list of all the Passengers taken on board the said Ship Benjamin Adams at Liverpool from which port the said Ship Benjamin Adams has now arrived and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who have died. So help me God. Sworn to this March 2, 1861 before me J. White???
List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the Ship Benjamin Adams whereof ??? J Chase, is master, from Liverpool burthen 1170 tons.
Columns represent: given name, surname, age in years and months, sex, occupation, country to which they belong. Country which they intend to inhabit, and part of the vessel which each occupied are not listed as they were going to the United State and occupied second cabins.

 1    Surname is very difficult to interpret. Maybe Thomas among many other possiblities.   
 2-7  Surnames maybe McGaceny among many other possiblities.
12    Surname is difficult to interpret. Maybe ?arit. First letter could be a "B".
14    Surname maybe Hayse or Hause.
20-28 Surname maybe Hyland.
22    Given name looks like it maybe Kaisan or Rairan.
30    Surname maybe many things, but could be Me??an. Could be Meckan.
33    Surname maybe Martean or many other things.
