I, Robert Leitch, Master of the R.M.S.S. "City of Baltimore", do
solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest,
subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of
the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the
Passengers taken on board the said RMSS "City of Baltimore" at Liverpool and
Queenstown, from which Ports the said "City of Baltimore" has now arrived; and
that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of
each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the
passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it
is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest
truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage
and the names and ages of those who died.

the country to which they severally belong, the country in which they intend
to become inhabitants, the part of the vessel occupied during the voyage, and
a notation if the passenger died during the voyage.

Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
The entry "United States" in the native country and destination country columns
is shortened to "U. States" for formatting reasons. "Male" and "Female" in the
Sex column is shortened to "M" and "F" for the same reason.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates given names by writing the first few
letters of the name, then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as
superscripted. In these cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate that

The recorder routinely substitutes "Mc" for "Mac" in the surnames of the Irish
passengers.
The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates a passenger's Occupation, such as
"Merch" or "Mercht" for "Merchant", "Mech" for Mechanic, "Labr" for Laborer,
"Serv^t" for Servant, "Inft" for Infant, "Ch^d" for Child and "Spinst" for Spinster.

8-10 Surname is recorded as "Gilman", but might possibly be "Gillman".
17 Passenger has the feminine given name "Mary", yet is listed as "Male",
likely a recording error.
18 Passenger has the feminine given name "Sarah", yet is listed as "Male",
likely a recording error.
41 Surname is recorded as "McCuskar", but might possibly be McCusker".
53 Passenger has the feminine given name "Ellen", yet is listed as "Male",
likely a recording error.
91-96 Surname is recorded as "Moloy", but might possibly be "Molloy".
109-110 Surname is recorded as "Flemming", but might possibly be "Fleming".
133 Surname recorded as "Gibbins", but might possibly be "Gibbons".
150-151 Surname is recorded as "Wark", but might possibly be "Warke".
153-157 Surname is recorded as "Bradly", but might possibly be "Bradley".
181 Given name appears to be written as "Anden", but might possibly be "Anders".
231-233 Surname is recorded as "Harvy", but might possibly be "Harvey".
239 Surname is recorded as "McGeenery", but might possibly be "McGeeney".
254-256 Surname is recorded as "McAragher", but might possibly be "McCaragher".
259-263 These passengers all have German names and yet their Native Country is
recorded as "Ireland", possibly a recording error.
267 This passenger has a German name and yet his Native Country is recorded as

268 Surname is either "Haber" or "Huber".
295 Given name is not carefully written, but might possibly be "Kind".
320-323 Surname appears to be written as "Bjurstrone", but might possibly
