ANCHOR LINE OF TRANSATLANTIC STEAM PACKET SHIPS.
DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, John Hedderwick, Master of Steam Ship Anchoria do solemnly,
sincerely, and truly affirm that the following List or Manifest,
subscribed by me, and now delivered to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said S. S. Anchoria at Glasgow for which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of shich it is intended by each to become a inhabitan; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage and teh names of those who died.

Transcriber's ancestors onboard - passenger #42 Hutchison (also #32 Baird and #61 Webster)
Passenger #42 is my Great grandfather, John Hutchison. John was born about 1848 he
and his wife, Catherine Baird Hutchison lived and raised his family of 5 sons in
Kilsyth, Stirling, Scotland. In March of 1881 John left Kilsyth with Passengers
# 32, Charles Baird and # 61 Lewis Webster, his brother-in-laws and traveled to
Glasgow leaving all their families behind and went to America. Arriving at New
York's Ellis Island and then preceeding on to Carnegie, (Allegheny Co) Pa., a
distance of about 400 miles. After finding work as miners and suitable housing
they sent for their families who left Scotland about 6 months later and arrived
in New York August 18, 1881.
