Ship American Eagle
I, Richard Hale Moore, Master of the Ship Am^n Eagle do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by Me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York,is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Ship at London from which port said Ship has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

The manifest scribe used long vertical lines to probably indicate continuation of the space occupied on the vessel; these have been replaced with the actual recorded words. The manifest scribe numbered the passengers. Sex Designation was recorded as Male or Female but has been modified to M or F because of space. 9 Age recorded as 18 mos. 48 3rd/4th letters of first name not clear. 48-53 Surname for this family is spelled variously as Fernandes and Fernandez. 55 Sex omitted. 68 End of 1st name smeared, illegible, could be Adam. 85 Central letter(s) of surname not clear because of handwriting. Correspondence added 4-18-2006, Passengers DOELLPassenger 77 – Jacob Doell is my great great grandfather. His son Adam (passenger #81) is my great grandfather. Jacob was born Oct 5, 1824 in Eichfeld, Baiern, Germany and settled in Dayton, Ohio. He died May 25, 1874 and is buried in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. His first wife Anna Barbara Doell (passenger #79) died sometime before April 1, 1859, which is the birth of his daughter Margarethe by hissecond wife Katrina Rohrer. Anna Barbara (Koenig)Doell was born August 9, 1821 in Eichfeld, Baiern, Germany. The family changed the spelling of the surname in the 1880s to Dell. Jacob’s children: George Andrew last appeared in the 1870 census with his father in Dayton. Adam stayed in Dayton died in Dayton September 27, 1943. Anna Maria (aka Mary Francis) (#80) died in Dayton, November 10, 1930. Anna Barbara (#82) died in Dayton August 5, 1884. Anna B. (aka Anna Margarete) (#83) died in Dayton March 11, 1954. Jim Dell
