DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, William Harrison do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Steamer Africa whereof I am Master, from Liverpool. So help me God (signed) Wm Harrison

Columns represent: Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, and country in which they intend to become inhabitants. Last column is designated for those who died on voyage but the heading has been crossed out. No new heading is added and no explanation of what the "yes" and "no" in that column represent, could be if they have American citizenship.

19  surname could be Hernian or Herman
26  surname could be Skelhorn
27  surname could be Norbin
28  surname could be Lucas, many "L's" and "S's" look alike on this list
34  surname could be Dres or even Drew
37  surname appears to begin with K or H but does not match the H or K in the name
    above it.  Could be Hainland, Kainland, Kaviland
39  my first reaction was this surname was Schach or Schack but the ending "t" looks
    just like the ending t in #41 Becket
48 & 49  surname appears to start with R but is difficult to read, could be a K.  Also, 
    the p could be an f or even the script for ss, as in Remfson or Remsson, Kempson, 
    Kemsson
66  surname could be Weit, Wiet, Veit
67  surname could be Heimfer or Himper
